2017-2018 ‘BUMBLEance
Our Charity Partner for 2017-2018 was BUMBLEance Children’s National Ambulance Service. Over the course of two years, we raised in excess of €30,000 for the charity. This was achieved through a number of fundraising events supported by our team which included our annual Vintage Car Show in association with Cork Airport, Halloween Afternoon Tea, Dirty Dancing Movie Event and many more initiatives from our team including our resident fish Aaron. We are very proud of our fantastic team for all the hard work they did to raise awareness for this very deserving charity. Our General Manager Carmel Lonergan is a proud member of the committee in Cork which drives many fundraising events across the year.
About Bumbleance
BUMBLEance is a children’s ambulance service, designed specifically with children in mind. The service is equipped with the most modern medical equipment required, it is also fit-for-purpose and all elements are specifically designed with children in mind and also include interactive elements for children.
On board the BUMBLEance vehicles, children can interact with a number of technological and entertainment systems including games and videos on Netflix, a TV, a playstation and an iPad Air. There is also the opportunity for the child to engage with an auditory sensory element through the use of Beats headphones. There is also wifi on board the vehicles which means that families can communicate with loved ones at all times and also allows for facetime services for the children with relatives and friends if desired.
BUMBLEance always strives to ensure that sick children can avail of comfortable and safe journeys to avail of heathcare serivces. BUMBLEance services a number of healthcare facilities including scheduled trips and inter-hospital transfers. For children who need to attend appointments before or after surgery, or to attend a respite or hospice the service is available. Special chemo cabs can be booked for little ones to attend their appointments. Children who are in need of critical care or transplants are also serviced by this facility and of course the BUMBLEance service maintains the always important angel trip service for families and little ones.
