UCC is an award-winning institution with a history of independent thinking stretching back over 170 years. UCC is ranked in the top 2% of universities in the world. The beautiful University now has a student population of over 21,000 and the leading university in Ireland.
Something you will find in UCC is that it is a major conference university with many conference ambassador generating international visitors to Cork every year via the Cork Convention Bureau.
The University runs cultural and historical tours of the university. A guided tour includes a visit to the Aula Maxima, the Ogham Stones Corridor, the Main Quadrangle and the refurbished Crawford Observatory.
Tourists can also visit the wonderful Glucksman Gallery, also located on the UCC campus.
HOW TO GET TO UCC FROM CORK INTERNATIONAL HOTEL:
Exit the business park onto Avenue 2000. At the roundabout, take the 1st exit (turn left) and stay on Avenue 2000. At the second roundabout, take the second exit and continue the next roundabout.
Take the first exit (turning left) onto the N27. Continue the N27 to Cork. At the roundabout, take the first exit onto N27. Turn left onto the ramp to N25/South Ring (West)/N22/N71. Merge onto N40. Exit left toward Sarsfield Road/N71.
At Sarsfield Road Roundabout, follow signs for Cork University Hospital/City Centre.
Pass the Wilton roundabout, exiting at Wilton Road.
Turn right at the next traffic lights (Dennehy’s Cross) and keep left at the next roundabout for College Road.
For Western Road continue down Wilton Road, follow the right bend and cross the bridge. The UCC Western Gateway Building is on your right. At Gaol Cross turn right, Perrott’s Inch car park is on your left.
