Civil Ceremony Cork
Civil Ceremonies are held in one of two rooms, our Venice – Valencia room or our Oscar – Tango room. These are both very spacious and bright rooms with the possibility to add a host of decorative extras. You are welcome to view the rooms at any stage, depending on availability, with the Wedding Coordinator. The Cork International Hotel is the perfect setting for your Civil Marriage. This service can be included in your chosen wedding package and includes the use of the private suite for the Civil Ceremony.
What do you need to do to have your Civil Ceremony Wedding at The Cork International Hotel?
The first step the Wedding couple must take is to apply for approval to the Health Services Executive Civil Registration Office. Each couple must apply directly; the hotel may not apply on their behalf. For further details please contact: Health Services Executive Civil Registration Office or phone the Cork office on 021 4275126.
How will approval be granted to us?
Approval is granted to each individual marriage on a case by case basis and is determined by a member of the Health Services Executive Civil Registration Office.
A member of this team will meet with the Wedding couple and review their application. When they are satisfied that both the hotel and the wedding couple meet the requirements, approval is then granted.
How long in advance should You apply?
Applications should be to the Health Services Executive Office made at least three months before the wedding, however, it is advisable to apply as far in advance as possible to guarantee requested dates.
What does the hotel have to do?
The hotel must complete a declaration form for each individual application and also ensure that the standards set out by the Health Service Executive Civil Registration Office are adhered to at all times
How many people can you have at your ceremony?
The maximum capacity for the ceremony at the hotel is 120 guests
How much does registration cost?
There is a notification fee of €150.00 which must be paid at the first meeting with the member of the Health Service Executive Civil Registration Office.
There is also a charge of €24.45 per hour for the Registrar on the day of the ceremony.
The Registrar is required to be in the building for one hour before and one hour after the ceremony so there will be a cost of €48.90, and the €24.45 will apply for each additional hour the registrar will be in the building.
Can the guests have a glass of champagne during the ceremony?
Unfortunately no food or beverage may be served or consumed in the ceremony room for one hour before, during or one hour after the ceremony.
