Boquet Number 1:We originally booked a room for 2 nights on the internet. Had to cancel and asked the hotel whether they would be agreeable to moving the dates. Didn't expect them to reply - they had the money. However, they replied almost immediately to say that under the circumstances they would transfer the dates without any further charge.

Boquet Number 2. We arrived on a very very cold winter evening on a flight from Paris which had taken most of our day. Three people ahead of us at reception and one girl working. I have never seen such efficiency in my life! When it came to our turn we were booked in within 3 minutes. Fastest book-in ever. Even better, the room was close by.

Boquet Number 3. The hotel looked beautiful. Staff had gone to great lengths to make the place cheerful - with beautiful Christmas trees and decorations. They also had a 'wishing' tree whereby guests could take a name from the tree and buy a child a present. When I queried what happened to those children who didn't receive a present I was told this wouldn't happen - if there were any names left on the tree the staff would buy the presents.

All in all, a delightful stay thanks to a great group of people who went out of their way to ensure we were looked after. If you happen to be in the vicinity of Cork airport between now and Christmas perhaps you might like to look in at the hotel and contribute to the giving tree. Thanks everyone for a very enjoyable visit - not sure when we will return it's a bit of a long haul from Australia.
